3200 Sport OBDI or OBDII Engine: M50/M50tu/S50/S52 A replacement to a M3 (S52) engine with some attitude. If your a BMW driving enthusiast who wants a moderate increase in power and greater engine longevity, without sacrificing fuel economy at a cost effective price, this engine fills the bill.
The MM 3200 Sport offers the following advantages over a stock engine:
- Increase in displacement and compression for more torque.
- Improved head flow and stronger valve retainers.
- Surface Turbulence valves to prevent head cracking and increase fuel economy.
- Stronger yet lighter forge Alusil pistons and pins.
- Special coated Tri-Metal.
- Rebuilt “blueprinted” VANOS unit.
Options usually purchased with this engine are:
- Oil pan swing to prevent oil starvation under hard cornering.
- MM lightened 240mm flywheel and clutch assembly.
- MM EPROM chip upgrade.
3200 Rally OBDI or OBDII Engine: M50/M50tu/S50/S52 The most popular power plant we sell in this engine series. This dual purpose engine lends it’s self well to enthusiastic driving on the street or track. It has a broad power band, pulls good down in the lower rpm range all the way it’s 7700rpm redline. The reciprocating mass is not only a good bite lighter but much stronger then the pistons, pins, rods, and rod bearings used In a E36 (S52) engine. This increase reliability and allows the engine to “spool up” more quickly. In an E36 will run the the1/4 mile in about 13.5 seconds at 108 mph.
The MM 3200 Rally provides these advantages over a stock engine:
- Chrome Moly steel crankshaft 89.6mm stroke
- Stronger but lighter 87mm forged alusil pistons with lighter 22mm tapered wall wrist pins.
- Premium light weight Crome Moly forged “H” beam rods.
- Coated trimetal rod bearings.
- Hotter rally intake and exhaust cams, with special ovate beehive valve springs and retainers.
- Higher flowing head, with lighter valve train, and surface turbulence valves.
- Windage tray and swing gate to prevent oil starvation under hard cornering.
- Rebuilt blueprinted VANOS unit.
Options usually purchased with this engine are:
- Light weight 240mm flywheel and clutch assembly
- MM EPROM chip and larger injectors
- Longer 93mm stroke Crome Moly steel crankshaft for more torque and larger displacement.
- Stronger but lighter 87mm forged alusil pistons with lighter 22mm tapered wall wrist pins.
- Premium light weight Crome Moly forged “H” beam rods.
- Coated trimetal rod bearings.
- Hotter rally intake and exhaust cams, with special ovate beehive valve springs and retainers.
- Higher flowing head, with lighter valve train, and surface turbulence valves.
- Windage tray and swing gate to prevent oil starvation under hard cornering.
- Rebuilt blueprinted VANOS unit.
Options usually purchased with this engine are:
- Light weight 240mm flywheel and clutch assembly
- MM EPROM chip and larger injectors
3200 FI OBDI or OBDII Engine: M50/M50tu/S50/S52 This engine is built tough to take boost. It is commonly used with a centrifugal blower (with or without a reduced pulley diameter) but will maximize it’s power better with a turbocharger.
The mechanical upgrades engineered into this engine to make it stronger for boost are:
- 8.6:1 compression forged alusil ceramic coated flat top pistons with thicker crowns. Optional hard anodized pistons for high boost levels.
- Heavy Duty wrist pins.
- Premium Crome Moly forged “H” beam rod, with 4 oil squirter grooves to cool off the bottom of the piston.
- Coated Tri-Metal rod bearings.
- 89.6mm Crome Moly forged steel crankshaft.
- Increased head flo with surface turbulence valves (reduces head cracking by minimizing detonation).
- Cams designed specifically for forced induction along with special ovate beehive valve springs and retainers.
- rebuilt “blueprinted” VANOS unit.
- Oil pan comes with Windage tray and swing gate, to prevent oil starvation under hard cornering.
